Roland Mery, a 61 year old ex-soldier father-of-four from Newport was so desperate to become a woman that he performed his sex-change operation (complete removal of his manhood) in his own bathroom!!!

It was the only way he could “set himself free” and his traumatised wife (who thought he was upstairs with a headache) was not allowed to accompany Roland to hospital until the police cleared her of performing the deed.

Losing two pints of blood in the process, the hospital examining him afterwards allegedly commented that he had actually done quite a good job!
